Atlantis, The Palm – Dubai
Dubai is known for its futuristic architecture and lavish lifestyles. It has also become known for one of the first underwater hotel rooms at Atlantis, The Palm.
The two underwater suite offers guests the opportunity to revel in the beauty of an underwater experience in one of their two underwater suites in the resort’s 3-million-gallon aquarium. The aquarium is home to more than 86,000 sea creatures, including stingrays and sharks.
The suite features 24-hour butler service, airport transfers, and private cabanas at the resort pool, beach, and water park.
The suites are three stories, with the bottom submerged in the aquarium where guests can view the sea creatures venturing past the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The Manta Resort – Tanzania
The Underwater Room at The Manta Resort changes guests’ perspectives by offering them the opportunity to stay in an underwater dreamscape. The three-level suite is located 250m offshore, floating in a marine conservation area off Pemba Island.
The structure is anchored to the ocean floor in an area protected from rough ocean conditions. The island is a part of the Zanzibar Archipelago in Tanzania.
The room appears inconspicuous from above the sea level with a rooftop deck and one at ocean level, offering 360 views overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The bedroom is encapsulated in turquoise blue beneath the sea level. Meals are delivered at predetermined times, with a security guard floating nearby during the night.

Conrad Rangali Islands – Maldives
The Maldives is full of some of the most stunning resorts in the world. The Muraka Villa is a part of the Hilton’s Conrad Hotel Maldives Rangali Island resort and is a bi-level residence with rooms above and below the surface of the Indian Ocean.Â
The villa defines luxury, with the underwater section featuring a lavish bedroom, bathroom, and living area. The floor-to-ceiling windows reveal a panoramic view of sea life.Â
Muraka means “coral” in Dhivehi, which is the local language. The resort has another underwater feature: an underwater restaurant that offers an intimate dining experience for a maximum of 12 seats. The menu is filled with locally sourced fresh seafood options.Â
Jules Undersea Lodge – Key Largo, Florida
The Jules Undersea Lodge is named after Jules Verne, the adventure author who wrote “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.”
The lodge offers an unprecedented view of marine wildlife from a night’s stay in an old marine research facility. Guests who stay overnight will have views of a protective mangrove lagoon and a natural nursery area for reef fish.Â
This is not a regular luxury underwater stay because there is a certain amount of adventure involved with this experience. Guests will have to scuba dive to reach the underwater resort.
The underwater hotel has a max occupancy of six guests with two private rooms and shared spaces like a wet room, living room, and round window in every area.
Hotel staff is on duty throughout the stay to ensure guests’ safety and a high-quality experience while venturing below the water. Guests can have a private chef venture beneath the surface to prepare a gourmet meal in the underwater lodge.

Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland – China
Located in an abandoned quarry 20 miles outside of Shanghai, the Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland is a feat of engineering.
The hotel features 16 underground levels built into the side of the quarry, with two levels submerged underwater.Â
The six suites, pool, and public spaces in the underwater section all feature windows looking out into the custom-built saltwater aquarium tanks which make up The Lagoon. The five-star hotel puts on a water display at 7:30 every evening for the guests to enjoy.
Resorts World Sentosa, Ocean Suites – Singapore
Located on the popular Sentosa Island just off the coast of Singapore, Resorts World – Ocean Suites features 11 two-story townhouse suites, complete with a glass opening for a fantastic view of the aquarium.
The upper level of the suites has an outdoor patio and jacuzzi and the lower level has a bedroom with an aquarium view where you can witness over 40,000 marine species. Prices start at around $1,000 per night.
