Located in a valley in northern Europe you will find not one but five amazingly clear lakes. A popular spot to visit in the summer, but we would recommend going in the winter.

If you’re lucky, you will see the clear water frozen over and it appears like glass, walking on it will feel like walking on water.

A tiny but unique and magnificent island in the Philippines archipelago. Once a quaint village of rice farmers, it’s now one of the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia thanks to this word renowned beaches and crystal clear waters surrounding the island.

#6. Blue Lake, New Zealand

One of the clearest lakes in the country, it’s so clear a canoe will look like it’s floating in the air, and the bottom of the lake bed is also visible.

On the edge of the lake, the vivid green algae and plant life complement the turquoise-blue reflection of the lake, making a truly magical, almost painting-like atmosphere.

It’s a small glacial lake but definitely worth the trip if you ever find yourself on the South Island.

For a lesser-known and less popular experience than the Amazon, check out this river for a safer and amazing snorkeling adventure.

You can start your journey hiking through the lush rainforest and then dive into the river. Here you’ll find pacú, dourado, and tons of other South American fish as you make your way down this river.


#3. Moraine Lake, Alberta, Canada

Arguably Canada’s most famous and picturesque lake, Moraine even once made it on the $20 bill. It’s a crystal clear glacial lack fed from way up high in the rocky mountains.

The mineral deposits and rock flour in the water create an incredible bluish hue not found in many other places. Be sure to canoe around the lake and admire the incredible scenery.

#2. Laghi di Fusine, Italy

Across the pond over in Italy, there is another lake that rivals Moraine in pristine beauty. Laghi de Fusine is best crossed by boat sipping a glass of Italian wine. Good luck swimming here though, as it’s also a very cold glacial lake year-round.

Some of the most famous islands in the Caribbean, the Bahamas are famous for their beautiful white beaches and crystal clear blue water.
